It's Been 207 Days (and Counting) Since Auditor Galloway Has Refused to Release Her Government Texts and Emails

KANSAS CITY -- It's been more than 207 days that Auditor Nicole Galloway has refused to release her government text messages and emails to Missouri taxpayers, and Missouri Alliance for Freedom is counting.

Today, Missouri Alliance for Freedom (MAF) unveiled a clock that marks the days, minutes, hours and seconds that have passed since the group delivered a letter to Auditor Galloway requesting she produce her government texts, emails and other documents in compliance with the Missouri Sunshine law.

Galloway continues to refuse production, even after MAF brought a lawsuit against her and filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office in attempt to compel her compliance with its lawful request.

MAF has made all requests to the Auditor, responses, court documents and production available for public viewing on its website.  While the Auditor's production may seem extensive, a viewing of the documents she has handed over reveal she is being evasive at best.

"Missouri taxpayers deserve full access to Auditor Nicole Galloway's government texts and emails, and her refusal to produce this information is in direct opposition to our state's Sunshine law," said Kristen Blanchard Ansley, Executive Director of Missouri Alliance for Freedom.  "We have provided taxpayers with copies of all documents related to our requests of Nicole Galloway, and now we have created a timer that reveals just how long Galloway has refused to release her text messages and emails to the public - so far 207 days and counting.  It's time for Auditor Galloway to come clean to Missouri taxpayers and stop refusing to provide them with the public information they deserve."
